Chelsea Angelo to join Wall Racing
Chelsea Angelo will be joining Wall Racing for the 2018 Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia, competing in the 2017 Australian Carrera Cup championship winning car, previously driven by David Wall.
With a strong field of 991 GT3 Cup cars the series is fast becoming a great stepping-stone and breeding ground for up-and-coming racers. This is an exciting time for Chelsea and for Wall Racing to expand into the series and build a driver developmental pathway.
Chelsea’s GT3 Cup car will be presented by PAYCE, Wilson Security, Grove Hire and OX Wheels.
As one of the leading female drivers in the country PAYCE and Wilson Security are very proud to be supporting Chelsea along with Grove Hire, who are also long time supporters of the White Ribbon Foundation.
Chelsea completed a test day at the end of last year with Wall Racing at Wakefield Park and prior to that at Sydney Motorsport Park. During testing at Wakefield Park she drove the championship winning car and was very impressive.
“It is great to be able to get a deal together for Chelsea to join Wall Racing and run her in GT3 Cup Challenge Championship,” said David Fyfe, Team Manager, Wall Racing.
Chelsea has a background in Formula Ford, Formula 3, Open Wheel classes overseas and has competed in a number Dunlop Super2 Series races.
“Chelsea has been given a fantastic opportunity to race a full season and to show everyone what she can do. Heading into the 2018 season we are confident of a very strong showing from Chelsea and for her to be a consistent front runner and in contention for the title at the end of the year,” said Fyfe.
“It’s great to be racing with Wall Racing this year in the Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Series. I am really looking forward to racing the series in a championship winning car. I would like to thank PAYCE, Wilson Security, Grove Hire and OX Wheels for all of their assistance and support. I can’t wait for the season to start and to get back on track,” said Chelsea Angelo.
Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia will race as part of the Shannons Nationals Series in 2018. The season kicks off at The Bend Motorsport Park on 13-15 April.
