Wall Racing returns to Bathurst 12 Hour with strong driving line-up

Wall Racing will return for another crack at the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour in February, using a tried and trusted driver line-up for its popular Lamborghini Huracan EVO in the once-around-the clock endurance race.

Car owner Adrian Deitz has linked up with Wall Racing for a fourth-straight year, entering the race with team owner and 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Champion David Wall, 2022 TCR Australia champion Tony D’Alberto and celebrity racer Grant Denyer for the February 3-5 event.

This strong four-driver Silver class combination finished fifth outright in the 2022 edition of the 12 Hour, remaining in contention for a podium place right up to the last hour of the race.

The red and white Huracan has undergone an extensive freshen up over the off-season, and the Wall Racing team and its drivers will undergo a final shakedown test at Phillip Island in the lead-up to the event.

Wall Racing will also have the support of a Lamborghini senior engineer who is set to fly directly from the Daytona 24 Hour sportscar race to Bathurst to complement the team’s Mount Panorama efforts.

The LIQUI-MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour will kick off on Friday, February 3 with practice, followed by qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

Driver, Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan EVO

“We’ve been very fortunate to have plenty of racing miles at Mount Panorama in recent times, and it has helped us really understand what the car needs at Bathurst,” said Deitz.

“We felt we made good steps with the car at Bathurst International in November and we are looking forward to making more improvements in the 12 Hour.

“Lamborghini is sending out a senior engineer, straight from Daytona, and we are incredibly grateful to have the brand’s support for Australia’s best sportscar endurance race. Having someone on the ground will be a huge benefit, not just for us drivers, but also the team.

“In terms of the driver line-up, there was no need to change. If it isn’t broken, there’s no need to fix it.

“Tony has been a huge asset to my racing, and the way he conducted himself to win the TCR title last year was phenomenal. He didn’t have the fastest car but did exactly what he needed to do to win the series, and that’s the reason we want him in the car.

“David’s credentials speak for themselves, and he works extremely well with Tony. Their technical feedback complements each other, there’s no egos there, and you know they get the job done.

“And Grant was such a terrific addition to the team last year. He is a terrific racing driver, who just happens to be an awesome media talent. He hadn’t driven a GT car in five years, and last year, he just got up there and did a great job – no fuss or fan-fare.”

David Wall – Driver, Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan EVO

“I don’t feel we have ever been better prepared for a Bathurst 12 Hour,” said Wall.

“The Huracan EVO is ready to go, and a short test beforehand will get the team and drivers ready for another big event.

“And personally, it’s also great to be getting back in the car with Adrian, Tony and Grant. It’s one of the best races to be in.”

Tony D’Alberto – Driver, Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan EVO

“The 12 Hour is the best way to kick start the new racing season, and it’s great to have the chance to step back into the Lamborghini with Adrian and the Wall Racing team,” said D’Alberto.

“There’s a great sense of anticipation for this year’s race. It will be great to have the international teams and drivers back in the field with big crowds returning.

“Wall Racing has been developing Adrian’s Lamborghini for a number of years now. I feel we have the car pretty sorted”

Grant Denyer – Driver, Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan EVO

“I live in Bathurst, I’ve finished second in this race before and doing almost 300kmh around here in Adrian’s Lambo is one of life’s greatest ever experiences,” said Denyer.

“This was the first major race I attended as a kid. We even slept in our Toyota Corolla in the pits. So this place means the world to me. It’s where I decided I wanted to be a racing driver.”

Giorgio Sanna – Head of Lamborghini Motorsport

“Lamborghini Squadra Corse is proud to support Wall Racing at the Bathurst 12 Hour with engineering support on site at the event, confirming our global assistance dedicated to all our customer teams,” said Sanna.

“Good luck to Adrian, David, Tony and Grant for this iconic race!”
