TCR Race Winner Coulthard Confirms Continued Campaign
Leaving Phillip Island with two wins and fourth in the standings, Fabian Coulthard will spend his Easter long weekend at Mount Panorama after confirming the continuation of his Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series campaign in the Stan Sports Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R.
It was a breakthrough weekend for Coulthard. The former Supercars star achieved his best qualifying result before scoring a dream Sunday result, taking both race wins, holding off inaugural TCR Australia champion Will Brown in a thrilling Sunday finale.
The now two-time race winner confirmed his continued assault in the Stan Sport Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR where he will tackle the fabled Mount Panorama circuit in Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series for the first time.
Coulthard enjoys a strong affinity at the Mountain having scored podiums previously in the Bathurst 1000, including one partnered by current Wall Racing team-mate Tony D’Alberto in 2017.
Entering Round 3 of the 2022 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series supporting the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, D’Alberto leads the standings by two-points from Swyftx GRM Peugeot driver Jordan Cox.
Honda privateer Zac Soutar is 21-points in arrears of Cox in third, while Coulthard is a further two points behind.
More than 70-entries have been received for this year’s Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour in what is the ultimate production car event, which is joined by the third round of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia and Turtle Wax Trans Am Series, the MRF Tyres Australian Pulsar Racing Association, NSW Historic Touring Cars and NSW HQ Holdens.
All of the action will be live, ad-break free and on demand exclusively on Stan Sport in Australia.

“It’s great to be back for Bathurst. We’re having a lot of fun doing it and winning so trophies, so for me, it’s a win-win,” said Coulthard
“For me, Bathurst is the unknown. I’ll have to go away and collate all of the information that I can to try and get the information myself to see what the cars are like there.
“There’s no substitute for driving it. I went on iRacing earlier to drive a TCR car at Phillip Island, and it turns out it’s similar, but not perfectly accurate as I would have liked, so I’ll just get a feel for it.
“It feels good (to get my first wins). The first one was a reverse grid, so it was nice to win, but nice to win outright when all of the quick guys were at the front.
“I had a great battle with Will Brown at the front in that final race. It was nice, clean and fair, so it was good to come away with the win.
Director of Sport, Stan
“Mount Panorama is such a special place for drivers, teams and fans, and we definitely wanted to ensure that we had Fabian back in our car in TCR at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. This is an event that is growing by stature every year, and we are looking forward to bringing it into the homes of Australian sports fans like you’ve never seen before.”
