It was the Carl Cox Motorsport-supported Civic Type R TCR, which led into Turn 1 as back in the pack drivers went three or four wide.
It was clean start through the early section of the lap as Team Valvoline GRM Peugeot’s Aaron Cameron made the early running by climbing two positions to fourth, but this changed by the time he entered into Lukey Heights.

Stan Sport Wall Racing’s Fabian Coulthard took both he and teammate Tony D’Alberto as he made a charge towards the front.
First, he demoted Ben Bargwanna at Turn 4, then completed a pass on Clemente at Southern Loop to hold a lead he failed to lose.
Meanwhile, Cameron’s race ended as a turbo failed as Clemente was forced into retirement after his Civic Type R TCR slowed.
Close battles featured throughout the field as the Audis of yesterday’s race winner Jay Hanson and inaugural Supercheap Auto TCR Australia’s inaugural series winner Will Brown, who was driver of the race climbing more than 10 positions to finish seventh behind his younger teammate.
A thrilling battle between D’Alberto, Swyftx GRM’s Jordan Cox and Dylan O’Keeffe’s Schaeffler GRM Peugeot fell in favour of the Honda-supported Wall Racing driver at the conclusion.
The Ashley Seward Motorsport Autoglym-supported Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR of Michael Caruso completed a great comeback to be eighth ahead of HMO Customer Racing’s Nathan Morcom and Brad Shiels, both in Hyundai i30 N TCRs.
Current Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series leader Zac Soutar finished back in 18th after contact with HMO Customer Racing’s Bailey Sweeny at MG sent him through sand trap, while another off-track excursion lost him further time.
Supercheap Auto TCR Australia’s third and final race begins at 4:10pm.
