Walleee’s words on Darwin

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Round 4 – Darwin

Overall very happy with the weekend, we were hoping to have another strong round in Darwin, but didn’t really know what to expect heading up there again after being there for the first time last year.

Darwin is place I enjoy going to, last year the Darwin round was a turning point for us, finding a set up that I was comfortable with in the new 911.  It was nice to head back to a track that we had been to before and knew what we wanted out of the car.

We topped practice and then we backed it up with a pole position in qualifying, which was awesome.  Unfortunately in Race 1 I had a clutch issue on the line which put us back a couple of spots, we diced with Jaxon Evans and Alex Davison for most of the weekend and Andre Heimgartner in the last race.

It was great to walk away from the weekend with a heap of points, unfortunately we didn’t convert it to a race win but we did have a 2nd and two 3rd positions which gave us 3rd for the weekend and a nice straight car especially with the short turnaround to head to Malaysia, the first international round for Carrera Cup Australia.  I am looking forward to heading back to Malaysia, having raced there before and another strong race weekend to continue to gain more championship points.

A big thank you to everyone who makes as it possible as always Wilson Security, PAYCE and Shannons.
